The Inquisitor is less than impressed by Luke's feeble swordsmanship, but Luke ultimately triumphs and slices through his opponent, revealing the Grand Inquisitor to be some sort of ghostly echo of his physical self. Luke is reminded of that fact right away when he's forced to defend himself from the Grand Inquisitor, who seems to have mysteriously survived his death in the Season 1 finale of Star Wars Rebels.
